Jill A. Dougherty has over 35 years of experience as an employment law attorney and litigator. She counsels and assists employers with labor and employment law compliance and helps them prevent claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. She focuses on workplace investigations, wage and hour and other compliance audits, and creating and developing policies, best practices, and training.

  • Conducted internal ethics and compliance and workplace investigations for corporate clients at all levels within organizations, from line workers through C-suite.°
  • Drafted and revised employment-related handbooks, policies, and employment agreements, including non-compete, confidentiality, trade-secret, and anti-poaching agreements.°
  • Drafted EEOC and state agency Position Statements and responses to Requests for Information.°
  • Provided day-to-day counseling for human resources and business professionals with regard to employment matters and best practices.°
  • As in-house employment litigation counsel, achieved an exceptional history of summary judgment wins in discrimination cases in both state and federal court, including 100% success in winning summary judgment or dismissal of claims raising the theory of “joint employer” liability.°
  • Prepared policies, created electronic audit tools and design manuals, and conducted training for compliance with the Public Accommodations provisions (Title III) of the ADA, as amended, for a Fortune 500 corporation with over 13,000 facilities nationwide.°
