David Edington handles a broad range of commercial real estate, development and finance matters across the country related to all types of real estate classes and has significant experience representing clients in acquisitions, dispositions, and all manner of leasing matters. David’s finance practice includes representing borrowers and financial institutions in connection with construction, bridge, and other general secured financings. David has a comprehensive business background, including deep knowledge of common-interest communities and community management, and uses this experience to approach legal issues with a business-oriented perspective and efficiently achieve practical and workable solutions.
David’s experience additionally covers all real estate deals within the energy sector. His deep experience in the renewable energy and sustainability space includes work on solar, wind, and tax equity projects. David concentrates much of his work on advising these renewable energy companies, developers and investors on joint ventures, financings and acquisition and sale of energy projects.

- Represented Marquee Brands, LLC, an affiliate of Neuberger Berman, in connection with its acquisition of a majority ownership in America’s Test Kitchen (“ATK”) and its associated brands, including Cook’s Illustrated and Cook’s Country. ATK is a food and culinary media business, which leverages its industry-leading testing process for recipes and kitchen equipment to produce top class recipes and unbiased product reviews. ATK and its diverse portfolio of brands has an expansive audience across various media platforms.
- Represented Sun Capital Partners in its sale of Ames Taping Tools, the nation’s foremost provider of automatic taping and finishing tools and related products to the professional drywall finishing industry.
- Represented Blue Wolf Capital Partners, LLC in connection with the sale of StateServ Medical, the leading durable medical equipment (DME) benefit management company supporting hospices and other post-acute care providers in the United States.
- Represented a real estate fund in connection with a nearly US$500,000,000 sale of a portfolio of senior living facilities located across multiple states.
- Represented overseas purchaser in connection with acquisition of a boutique hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Represented renewable energy company in connection with acquisition of undeveloped land for use as a photovoltaic power generation station/solar park.
- Represented real estate fund in connection with its acquisition a REIT owning multiple self-storage facilities across two states.
