Greenberg Traurig and SAK Healthcare Win 2022 TMA Chicago/Midwest Chapter Transaction of the Year Award

CHICAGO – Dec. 2, 2022 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP and SAK Healthcare were announced winners of the 2022 Small Transaction of the Year Award by The Turnaround Management Association (TMA) Chicago/Midwest Chapter.

Greenberg Traurig was recognized for advising SAK Management-Ohio, LLC, the court appointed receiver for Premier Health Care Management, Inc. and its affiliates, in one of the largest transactions approved under Ohio’s receivership statute. The transaction saved roughly 570 jobs and allowed for the uninterrupted care of over 600 residents at six skilled nursing facilities during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The award also recognized SAK Healthcare for its excellence in maintaining operations at the facilities during the receivership and carrying out the transaction.

The transaction was led by Chicago Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice Chair Nancy A. Peterman and included Shareholders Gabriel Aizenberg, Genevieve Dominguez, and Martin S. Kedziora, and Associate Danny Duerdoth.

“We are honored to be recognized by the TMA Chicago/Midwest Chapter and proud of our team’s high caliber work and commitment to providing our clients with award winning legal services,” Peterman said.

The awards program recognizes the most impactful turnarounds and transactions and are chosen for their well-defined, measurable outcomes based on a rigorous peer-review process by the Awards Committee, which is composed to represent the diversity of the TMA membership.
