Greenberg Traurig’s Richard A. Edlin, Jang Hyuk Yeo and Hyewon Lee Speak at GC Summit South Korea 2023

SEOUL - April 17, 2023– Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Richard A. Edlin, Jang Hyuk Yeo and Hyewon Lee spoke at the GC Summit South Korea 2023 April 13 at The Westin Josun Seoul. The event was well attended by distinguished general counsels of leading Korean corporations across a wide range of industries. Greenberg Traurig was the main sponsor for the event.

Rich Edlin, vice chair of Greenberg Traurig and chair of both the Litigation Practice in New York and the Business & Regulatory Financial Services Litigation Group, spoke on the panel “Fireside Chat: Getting litigation right: Reaction, Management and Outcome.” He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America. As a trial lawyer, he has broad experience in both trial and appellate courts including the U.S. Supreme Court and the Delaware Supreme Court. He has tried numerous cases in federal and state courts all over the country and has handled a variety of domestic and international arbitrations. Rich also has testified before both Congress and the Department of Commerce while representing his clients and has represented various public figures including two U.S. Senators.

Jang Yeo, a shareholder in the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice in Seoul, spoke on the panel “M&A in South Korea: Current trends, market outlook, and deal execution.” He focuses his practice on M&A, joint ventures, capital markets, foreign investments, private equity transactions, and other general corporate matters. He also advises his corporate clients on dispute matters from time to time. Jang has worked on numerous high-profile cross-border transactions since moving to Korea in 2012 and has advised Korean companies in some of the most complex cross-border transactions.

Hyewon Lee, an associate in the firm’s Seoul office, moderated the session for the panel “M&A in South Korea: Current trends, market outlook, and deal execution.” She has comprehensive experience in corporate matters that extends across advising clients on outbound transactions as well as representing clients in U.S. litigations and international arbitrations when in dispute. On the transaction side, Hyewon focuses her practice on M&A, joint ventures, and general corporate matters. On the disputes side, she represents clients in high-stakes cases involving shareholder disputes, busted deals, disputes arising from foreign investments, and various other complex cross-border transactions.
