Los Angeles, CA (September 1, 2011) — Former federal prosecutor Mathew S. Rosengart has joined the Los Angeles office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP. He joins as a shareholder in the Litigation Practice and will focus on commercial, media and entertainment, and white collar defense litigation.
Rosengart, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney and Trial Attorney in both the Civil and Criminal Divisions of the U.S. Justice Department, has substantial and diverse trial experience. He served as Senior Associate Independent Counsel in Washington, D.C. In private practice, he has represented a number of well-known and high-profile entertainment professionals, including several Academy-Award-nominated writers, directors, actors, and production companies in matters ranging from defamation and breach of contract to sexual harassment and retaliation. He has also represented global financial institutions in investigations and trials before the NASD and AAA, conducted complex internal investigations on behalf of Fortune 500 companies and advised and represented members of senior management in FBI and SEC investigations.

Rosengart has served as lead counsel in more than a dozen trials and conducted numerous complex federal grand jury investigations, including several cases of national and international significance such as the investigation and prosecution of a U.S. Cabinet Officer and the central figure in the “China Gate” campaign finance/espionage cases. He is also the recipient of the Federal Younger Lawyer Award, awarded by a panel of federal judge’s to the top 5 federal government litigators under age 36.

Rosengart holds a J.D. from the Boston College School of Law, cum laude, and a B.A. from Tulane University.
