Stephen Rabinowitz Participates in PERE US Roundtable

NEW YORK Dec. 8, 2021 –Stephen L. Rabinowitz, co-chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig’s Real Estate Practice, participated as a panelist in PERE’s US Roundtable Sept. 27.

The panelists framed their discussions around COVID-19, noting that there is currently high activity in the U.S. private real estate market as investors show interest. However, the increased demand does not necessarily coincide with a supply of assets to meet it, creating a very competitive market.

“There is a lot of equity capital out there, and not enough great deals for smart investors,” Rabinowitz said at the roundtable.

Other topics discussed included: shifts in real estate investment strategy from office and retail into housing and specialized buildings medical office buildings, investors standardizing, sustainability and environmental impact assessments, the labor shortage, and supply chain disruptions affecting developers.

The roundtable was moderated by PERE senior reporter Kyle Campbell. Other participants included Eric Wurtzebach, senior managing director of Macquarie Infrastructure & Real Assets; Larry Grantham, founder, and chief executive of Calmwater Capital; Larissa Belova, portfolio manager at CBRE Investment Management; and Jim Martell, chief executive of Logistics Property Company.
