Milos Markovic focuses his practice on various real estate matters. He represents REITs and other institutional investors, both public and private, in various types of complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, equity investments and joint ventures. Milos also represents lenders and borrowers in construction, mezzanine, bridge and permanent financings, as well as restructurings and workouts.

  • Represented Equity International, LLC. in its acquisition of a thirty percent stake in Terranum Hotels, the owners of hotel projects, including the Aloft and W Hotel in Bogota, Colombia, and in the acquisition by Terranum Hotels of Hoteles Decameron, S.A., creating a $700 million hotel conglomerate through Central and South America and the Caribbean.
  • Represented an investment fund in the acquisition of a majority interest in a residential developer.
  • Represented a chemical company in the acquisition of an office building to serve as corporate headquarters.
  • Represented an investor in a programmatic joint venture.
  • Represented a money partner in the negotiation of a joint venture for the acquisition and development of four air rights parcels in Boston, MA.
  • Represented a money partner in the negotiation of various joint ventures for the acquisition of mixed-use developments in New York, NY.
  • Represented a client in the acquisition of a medical office building in Laguna Hills, CA.
  • Represented a client as the development partner in a joint venture to acquire and convert a former cork factory into luxury condominium apartments.

  • Represented a REIT in connection with a forward purchase commitment.
  • Represented the Agent in restructuring (and partial securing) of a $150 million unsecured line of credit to a private REIT.
  • Represented various industrial REITs in transactions such as:
    • The negotiation and seeding of several industrial joint ventures
    • The acquisition by merger or an industrial REIT
    • The acquisition of a $495 million and $263 million industrial portfolio
    • The negotiation and seeding of Shari'ah compliant industrial joint ventures with Islamic investors
  • Represented a parking REIT in the joint development of a garage and hotel in Chicago, IL.
  • Represented a chemical company in a build-to-suit lease of a specialty warehouse.
  • Represented a client in connection with the negotiation of a ground lease for the development of a medical office building on a hospital campus.
