Advanced Internet of Things 2026: Deeper Dive, Practical Wisdom

PLI’s Advanced Internet of Things 2026: Deeper Dive, Practical Wisdom program will take place on October 14, with attendees able to participate either in person in San Francisco or online. Hosted by PLI, the program will examine the evolving IoT landscape and the enormous amounts of data generated by connected devices that increasingly interact directly with people. The program will also address key issues involving contracting, cybersecurity and privacy, data ownership, and the added risks associated with AI-enabled operation.

Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Ian C. Ballon, Co-Chair of the Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice, will present "IoT Litigation—Identifying and Mitigating Risk" at 2:45 p.m. PT. His session will explore the product liability, privacy, contractual, and other legal risks associated with IoT devices, including issues of direct and secondary liability, preemption, and immunity, and will provide practical strategies for reducing potential exposure.
