NEW YORK – March 28, 2022 – Lori G. Cohen, vice chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP and co-chair of the firm’s 600+ Litigation Practice and the Trial Practice, has been named the Product Liability Litigator of the Year at the 2022 Benchmark Litigation East Coast Awards in New York. Cohen previously won this award in 2019.
Nationally recognized for her extraordinary trial record of 58 defense verdicts, Cohen leads a global practice that focuses on complex litigation of all types, including products liability and pharmaceutical, medical device, and health care litigation. She has served as national, regional, and trial counsel for numerous medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers, handling all types of litigation, including class actions, multidistrict litigation, and trials nationally. Cohen also founded the firm’s award-winning Pharmaceutical Medical Device and Health Care Litigation Practice and the Trial Practice Group, and her team routinely takes complex cases to trial and win, including some of the most complex mass torts in history. Well-known for her record of winning high-stakes trials, Cohen is often called upon to “parachute in” at the last minute before trial, especially in challenging cases and jurisdictions.
Cohen is no stranger to Benchmark Litigation honors, having been previously named “Product Liability Litigator of the Year” (2019); a “National Litigation Star” (2019); a “National Practice Area Star” for General Commercial, Health Care, and Product Liability (2020-2022); and a “Local Litigation Star” (2020-2022). Other honors include: “Top 100 Trial Lawyers” (2018-2022); “Top 10 Women Litigators” (2018-2021); and “Top 250 Women in Litigation” (2015-2021).
The 10th annual awards ceremony was held on March 24 in New York and honored the east coast’s most distinguished litigators and their firms for work over the last year. The firm was also shortlisted for Product Liability Firm of the Year; Litigation Department of the Year in Florida, Georgia, and New Jersey; and Shareholder Jonathan L. Sulds for Labor & Employment – Management Side Litigator of the Year.
