Jon Bills is a registered patent attorney focusing on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Throughout his career, he has helped clients obtain hundreds of domestic and foreign patents involving a variety of intricate technologies, including computer architecture, virtual and augmented reality systems, software applications, analog and digital circuitry, semiconductors, network routing solutions, cochlear implants, and mechanical designs. In addition to preparing and prosecuting patent applications, his practice also involves representing clients in ex parte appeals before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to his legal career, Jon worked as an electrical engineer at Boise State University, where he developed hardware, software, and firmware for FAA and EPA sensor systems. He developed analog and digital circuitry for carbon monoxide sensors, pulse oximeters, high voltage power supplies, ozone sensors, ion-gate controllers, and current-to-voltage preamplifiers. The results collected from the FAA sensor system were used by researchers at Harvard, Berkeley, and Stanford to evaluate the health dangers present on commercial flights, and the results collected from the EPA sensor system were used by researchers at Washington State University to evaluate the contaminant levels of aquifers.

Jon is also a patented inventor. He holds a patent on a novel magnetically driven gearless transmission for wheeled machines.
