Greenberg Traurig’s Gregory S. Bombard, Jordan D. Grotzinger, and Thomas Pease to Speak at Trade Secret IP Protection & Litigation West Coast Summit

SAN JOSE, Calif. – April 23, 2024 – Shareholders Gregory S. Bombard and Jordan D. Grotzinger, of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Trade Secrets Practice, will speak at the Trade Secret Intellectual Property (IP) Protection & Litigation West Coast Summit 2024 April 23 in San Jose.

Shareholder Thomas Pease, of the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Practice, will speak at a related IP Leadership Executive Conference April 24-25, also in San Jose.

Bombard and Grotzinger will be moderating panels at the event. Bombard’s panel will discuss avoiding trade secret misappropriation and forging trade secret strategies. Grotzinger's panel will discuss "To Inventory or Not to Inventory?: The Trade Secret Dilemma."

Pease is leading a roundtable discussion titled “SEPs: Regulatory Changes and Strategies for 2024.”

Bombard is a trial lawyer focusing on trade secret litigation, business torts, and other complex commercial disputes. He represents pharmaceutical, technology, and manufacturing companies in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings throughout the United States. He regularly represents both plaintiffs and defendants in trade secret cases and related claims. Bombard is a frequent writer and speaker on trade secret law and is the co-author of the book Protecting and Litigating Trade Secrets (2nd Ed.), published by the American Bar Association.

Grotzinger is the longstanding co-chair of the firm’s Los Angeles Litigation Practice. He is a trial lawyer and trusted problem solver focusing on trade secret law and challenging business disputes. Grotzinger represents companies across various industries in trade secret litigation and counseling matters. He founded and hosts Greenberg Traurig’s Trade Secret Law Evolution Podcast, a podcast on trade secret law since 2019, which offers monthly updates and takeaways on the latest developments and trends in this area.

Pease is a member of the firm’s Patent Litigation and Intellectual Property & Technology Groups. He has served as lead trial counsel in patent and trade secret cases across a wide range of industries, including cellular telecommunications, Wi-Fi, semiconductors, machine learning and artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency/blockchain/DeFi, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.  He has deep experience with standard essential patents (SEPs) and has represented a wide range of industries in virtually every kind of dispute involving such patents and the RAND/FRAND licensing commitments that often govern them including district court and ITC litigation, arbitration, investigations before the FTC, the DOJ, and DG Comp., license negotiations, and the design and implementation of worldwide litigation strategies.
