DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Sept. 17, 2026– A team from global law firm Greenberg Traurig acted for the international and regional joint lead managers on Kuwait International Bank’s (KIB) US$500 million Trust Certificates sukuk issuance due in 2031.
KIB’s debut senior sukuk issuance, issued as part of its ongoing funding strategy, was significantly oversubscribed and was listed in London. The issuance was a drawdown under KIB’s US$1.5 billion sukuk programme that Greenberg Traurig also advised on in September 2025 and follows a Tier 2 sukuk issuance by KIB in October 2025.
KIB is an Islamic bank located in Kuwait City, founded in 1973, and originally known as the Kuwait Real Estate Bank. KIB offers Islamic banking and finance services for individuals and corporate customers. It is a specialised bank regulated by the Central Bank of Kuwait and listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange since July 1, 2007.
The team from Greenberg Traurig’s Dubai office was led by Capital Markets Shareholder Alex Roussos, Senior Associate Sana Siddiqui, and Paralegal Oshin Maheshwari.
“We are delighted to have been part of the bank’s inaugural senior unsecured sukuk issuance. The successful pricing is testament to the bank’s and joint lead managers’ perseverance and commitment to see this deal through in markets that are not the easiest to navigate at the moment. Great to see this vote of confidence in our region from the international investment community,” Roussos said.
