A multi-office team from global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, led by its German Restructuring Unit, GT Restructuring, advised IFA Group on its sale to Munich-based family office Aequita. Headquartered in Haldensleben (Saxony-Anhalt), IFA Group is reported to be one of the world's largest manufacturers of sideshafts, longitudinal shafts and joints for the international automotive industry.
 
In addition to the production facility in Haldensleben, the IFA Group has subsidiaries with plants in the USA, China, and Poland. They were also acquired as part of the IFA Group. In the course of the sale, the complex financing structure of the group was also restructured.
 
Background: Greenberg Traurig has provided comprehensive advice to IFA Group on all aspects of its restructuring since the initiation of its reorganization in 2019. With the sale of the company, the restructuring process started at that time has now been completed.
