Greenberg Traurig’s Phoenix Office to Participate in Local Bowl-A-Thon for Charity

The Office Raises Funds to Send More Than 100 Children to Junior Achievement of Arizona

PHOENIX (June 6, 2014) – The Phoenix office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will compete in the Junior Achievement Hula Bowl-A-Thon on June 11, 5:30pm at the AMF Scottsdale Lanes. Proceeds from the event will benefit Junior Achievement of Arizona. The 50 participating members of the firm’s Phoenix office will compete in 10 teams. Two of the teams are among the top five fundraising teams in the Valley competing in the event.

Prior to the event, Greenberg Traurig team members raised donations to send more than 100 children to Junior Achievement programs and are continuing to raise funds to reach their goal of sending 150 children to the program.

Junior Achievement of Arizona provides children with a broad range of learning opportunities designed to instill a sense of entrepreneurship through economic and financial experiences. Their goal is to foster a desire in students to build businesses and improve their communities.  For every $36 raised from the bowl-a-thon, one child will benefit from the Junior Achievement programs.

“Our goal is to raise enough money to put 150 children through the Junior Achievement program and we’re almost there,” said Karl Freeburg, a Greenberg Traurig shareholder and Junior Achievement board member and volunteer teacher. “These kids are our future and that future is built on economic principles derived from the entrepreneurial spirit.  It’s important they understand what keeps our economy moving forward and keeps our communities cohesive. “
