MIAMI – Oct. 1, 2015 – The Miami office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. was crowned the 2015 “Dare to Dodge” Champion in the law firm vs. law firm dodgeball tournament to benefit the United Way of Miami-Dade. The event was held Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
More than 200 attorneys and staff members from some of Miami’s top law firms participated in the round-robin style tournament, complete with referees from Miami Dodgeball League. The event raised over $15,000 from the entry fees paid by participants. All proceeds from the tournament benefit United Way’s work in education, health and financial stability.
“I am proud to see such great participation from Greenberg Traurig and the Miami legal community,” said David A. Barkus, Co-Chair of the Miami Corporate & Securities Practice and member of the United Way of Miami-Dade 2015-2016 Board of Directors. “This event truly harnesses the power of friendly competition for a tremendous community cause.”

In addition to Greenberg Traurig, participating law firms included: Akerman; Bilzin Sumberg; Carlton Fields Jorden Burt; Fowler White Burnett; Genovese Joblove & Battista; Hogan Lovells; Holland & Knight; Kluger Kaplan; Stearns Weaver Miller.
