Also Named Chair of Subcommittee on Law Firm Advancement
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Oct. 14, 2015 – Tracy L. Gerber, Co-Managing Shareholder of the West Palm Beach office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been appointed to the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL) statewide standing committee on Member Advancement and Placement. Gerber has also been named Chair of the subcommittee on Law Firm Advancement by the organization’s immediate past president Robin Bresky.
As part of the Member Advancement Committee, Gerber will help to vet qualified women candidates for Florida Bar Committee appointments. The committee was recently credited by Florida Bar President Ray Abadin as instrumental in helping to boost the percentage of women on Bar committees.
As Chair of the Law Firm Advancement subcommittee, Gerber will be responsible for organizing a series of statewide panels to help women seeking advancement within their own firms. In June 2015, Gerber spoke at one such panel entitled “Creating Your Blueprint for Leadership,” a CLE event presented by FAWL.
“I’m very passionate about working together to help further the cause of women’s advancement in the legal profession across the state,” Gerber said. “I look forward to this opportunity to share some of the accomplishments Greenberg Traurig has achieved through the firm’s Women’s Initiative and help others find their path to success.”
Gerber, a member of the firm's National Securities Litigation practice group as well as the National Labor and Employment practice group, represents major broker-dealers in FINRA arbitrations, regulatory proceedings, and state and federal courts. As lead counsel in the defense of financial services firms, she has litigated numerous sales practice and employment cases involving millions of dollars in controversy. Gerber also serves as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and is a frequent speaker on the subject of securities arbitration.
