Greenberg Traurig Co-Sponsors Edgewood Ranch Endowment Golf Tournament, Raises Nearly $90,000

ORLANDO – May 30, 2018 – International law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. co-sponsored the Edgewood Ranch Endowment, Inc.’s charity golf tournament recently held at the world renowned Isleworth Golf & Country Club. The tournament raised nearly $90,000 for the Edgewood Children’s Ranch, a not-for-profit that permanently houses, schools, ministers, and counsels up to 70 boys and girls (ages 6-17) on a full-time, year-round, basis.

Greenberg Traurig Orlando Associate Jay Crenshaw serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Edgewood Ranch Endowment, Inc. and was also the event’s organizer and director. Corporate sponsors and participants at the event included: Dr. Phillips Charities, Schrimsher Properties, PCL, International Assets Advisory, Fields BMW, Cramer Family Foundation, Full Tilt Construction, GroceryAnchord.com, Merrill Lynch, Contemporary Construction, E.R. Precision Optics, Orlando Construction, Hartford South, Cramer Price & DeArmas P.A., Wigington Fire Protection, L.C. Electric, PRISM One / Burshan Foundation, and AEGIS Sports Management, among others.

The Edgewood Ranch Endowment was organized in the early 1990s for the sole purpose of providing a long-term source of funding for the operations of the Edgewood Children’s Ranch (the “Ranch”). The Ranch is a non-denominational faith-based organization. Its history in the Central Florida community is rich and longstanding, dating back to 1966 when Juvenile Court Judge D. Arthur Yergey saw a need for a residential facility for young children who exhibited negative social behavior due to family circumstances. Judge Yergey and John W. “Jack” Lynd subsequently opened the Edgewood Boys Ranch in Orlando. In 1968, a generous donation of 110 acres was given to be the permanent site for the Ranch, giving children a safe environment in which to change the direction their life was headed. The Ranch today is able to accommodate more than 70 boys and girls at a time. The methods and goals of the ranch today are the same as they were in 1966.
