Jonathan S. Goldstein focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and appellate work in federal and state courts, including securities, breach of fiduciary duty, copyright infringement, and toxic tort cases, as well as matters related to the RICO statute. Jonathan’s experience includes arguing and briefing an appeal before the Ninth Circuit. Jonathan also maintains an active pro bono practice.

  • Secured multimillion-dollar settlements for an investment company and a bank in a fraud case stemming from the collapse of a Ponzi scheme.°
  • Obtained dismissal of a toxic tort case against an aerospace manufacturer.°
  • Obtained dismissal of a RICO lawsuit against a Las Vegas casino.°
  • Defeated a motion for a preliminary injunction to stop the sale of a public company in a breach of fiduciary duty case in the Delaware Court of Chancery.°
  • Obtained a settlement for a founder of a technology company in litigation against the Securities and Exchange Commission.°
  • Represented the plaintiff in an excessive use of force case on appeal before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.°
  • Defended a copyright infringement lawsuit against filmmaker.°
  • Represented immigrant rights nonprofit in filing amicus brief in support of en banc rehearing in the Ninth Circuit.°
  • Served as outside counsel to the Illinois Torture Inquiry and Relief Commission investigating claims of police torture.°
  • Represented a minor from Central America in applying for asylum.°
