DENVER – Feb. 24, 2023 – Nikki E. Dobay, shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Tax Practice, will speak at the Council On State Taxation (COST) 2023 Sales Tax Conference & Audit Session Feb. 21-24. The conference will feature presentations on recent transactional tax developments, in-depth discussions on sales and use tax issues, audit sessions, and legislative and regulatory updates.
Dobay will speak Feb. 24 on a panel titled “Outside Counsel – A Valuable Resource – Maximize the Value.” The panelists will discuss updates on the Multistate Power of Attorney project that Dobay has been leading, which will help to streamline the POA process for multistate taxpayer. The panel also will discuss how and when to engage with outside counsel, and best practices for managing that process.
Dobay, based in the firm’s Sacramento office, is nationally known for her deep experience and understanding of state tax policy and the legislative process. She also advises her clients on sophisticated multistate tax issues as well as the consequences and planning opportunities related to corporate mergers and acquisitions transactions and oversees SALT controversy matters, ranging from audits to appellate litigation. Dobay regularly writes and speaks on issues related to SALT and other areas of tax law.
