NEW JERSEY (Oct. 6, 2014) – Barry Schindler and Elysa Goldberg, attorneys in the New Jersey office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will speak at the iJOBS Career Panel Series on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014. The event will take place at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ.
Schindler and Goldberg will speak on “Patent Law and Intellectual Property Careers with a Biology Ph.D.” The lecture aims to help both doctoral students and biomedical scientists explore interdisciplinary job opportunities.
Schindler, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig's Global Patent Prosecution Group and a shareholder in the New Jersey Intellectual Property & Technology Department, has more than 25 years of legal experience advising clients regarding all aspects of patent prosecution. Schindler has helped companies of all sizes build and manage significant patent portfolios, develop in-house procedures and formulate intellectual property strategies. He positions clients to gain a competitive advantage by identifying patentable subject matter and drafting claims in such a way that infringement becomes possible to prove.
Goldberg, an associate in Greenberg Traurig's Intellectual Property and Technology Practice, holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular, and cell biology from Cornell University with an additional focus in pharmacology. Goldberg focuses her practice on drafting patent applications, patent prosecution, and diligence. She also prepares freedom to operate and patentability opinions primarily in the areas of life sciences, pharmaceuticals, molecular diagnostics, and biotechnology.
