Melissa Bryson Bonati advises clients on the tax and business aspects of matters related to wealth transfer and estate planning, including estate administration, charitable giving, asset protection, business succession planning, and gift tax planning. She uses sophisticated strategies with the goal of minimizing estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes, as well as maximizing clients’ charitable impact with their net worth.
Melissa creates and administers tax-exempt organizations, including public charities, private foundations, and charitable split-interest trusts. She also advises foreign charities on the creation and administration of “friends of” organizations. She counsels fiduciaries on probate, inheritance, post-mortem tax planning, accountings, and court proceedings, including multijurisdictional estate litigation.
