Clive has over 25 years' experience advising on direct and indirect tax and structuring in relation to UK and international transactions, funds and investment structures, in the real estate and financial services sectors. His clients include UK and overseas asset managers, financial institutions, property managers and developers.
Clive is recognised in The Legal 500 UK Guide 2024 for Tax, with previous Legal 500 commentary calling him “an absolute tax guru who we can pull into any tax-related matter to resolve an issue.”

- Advising a UK headquartered asset manager on structuring various real estate joint ventures and investment platforms, investing in a range of sectors including businesses with significant operating business components across Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Ireland, Finland, Sweden and the UK.
- Advising a UK asset manager on the establishment of a fund to invest in UK residential real estate assets and on the acquisition of a portfolio of assets by the fund.
- Advising a UK residential development real estate finance platform on a circa £1bn joint venture with a Canadian headquartered property group and a U.S. asset manager.
- Advising on a European hotel joint venture, including investments in the UK, Germany, Belgium, France, Ireland and the Netherlands.
- Advising a U.S. hedge fund on establishing platforms to invest in logistics in Europe.
- Advising on the restructuring of a circa £3bn headquartered data centre group.
- Advising a U.S. headquartered asset manager on the establishment of a circa £1bn joint venture with a sovereign wealth fund investing in UK real estate assets.
