Clive focuses his practice on advising on tax and structuring in relation to UK and international transactions, funds and investment structures, primarily in the real estate and financial services sectors.

Clive recently joined the firm from King & Wood Mallesons.  He has been a corporate tax attorney for more than 20 years. He started his career at Clifford Chance in 1993. Clive left Clifford Chance in 2007 to join Eversheds, where he was the head of the London tax practice, before joining King & Wood Mallesons in 2015.

  • Goodman Real Estate on the establishment of the Goodman UK Partnership, a joint venture with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and APG Asset Management established to acquire and develop £1.2bn of UK logistics properties.°
  • Oval Real Estate on the circa £200m disposal to Kildare Properties of 4 investment structures holding a portfolio of mixed commercial use UK properties.°
  • Argon Capital on the establishment of a Centerbridge investment vehicle to invest in circa £1bn of real estate, and advising on transactions entered into by the vehicle.°
    A US hedge fund on the establishment of a Luxembourg regulated umbrella fund investing in European real estate.°
  • Schroders on the establishment of a fund to acquire a vehicle holding 55 Bishopsgate London for circa £190m from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, and advising on the acquisition and restructuring of the vehicle.°
  • The BlackRock Europe Property Fund III on its sale of Lands Improvement Group to Telereal Trillium for circa £120m.°
  • A UK venture capital provider and UK pension fund British on the establishment of a fund to acquire up to £1bn of UK real estate assets.°
  • The Chinese National Travel Service on a circa £400m acquisition of UK based Kew Green Hotels group from Goldman Sachs and TPG Special Situations Partners.°
  • Galliard Homes, Cain Hoy Enterprises and McCourt Global on establishing The Stage Shoreditch joint venture and the acquisition of the site.°
    A US hedge fund on the purchase of an Irish securitisation structure investing in a portfolio of non-performing consumer loans in Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland and the UK. Also advised on the
  • subsequent stripping out of the UK loan portfolio and sale of the rest of the structure to the servicer.°
