The Greenberg Traurig Asian American Affinity Group hosted a re-enactment of the murder trial of Vincent Chin. We honored Chin 40 years after his murder and reexamine Chin’s legacy in light of recent increased discrimination and violence against Asian Americans. In 1982, Chin was beaten to death in Detroit. Although the assailants pleaded guilty to killing Chin, they never spent a night in prison. This injustice galvanized the Asian American community.
This online presentation featured a live performance by a cast of Greenberg Traurig attorneys. They re-enacted the trial from a script created from court records and transcripts.
