Federal Bar Association 2023 Insurance Tax Seminar

The 2023 Insurance Tax Seminar in-person seminar will feature topical tax discussions between industry tax professionals, tax advisors, consultants, and government tax professionals. Attendees will get the latest tax news on IRS guidance and other developments, and hear real-time commentary and perspectives from numerous industry tax specialists. Seminar panels have been crafted to cover a range of viewpoints on the latest insurance company, insurance product, international, and other relevant and timely tax topics.

Sharon Katz-Pearlman, Shareholder, will moderate the "Key Developments in Tax Controversy" panel that will cover several recent, critical developments in the controversy space. The program will provide the attendees with an understanding of the Inflation Reduction Act funding for the Internal Revenue Service, and the impact of that funding on IRS enforcement. It will address the important new guidance in Revenue Procedure 2022-39, (disclosures at the commencement of an exam), revisions to the CAP program and key changes to Schedule UTP, and the potential impact of In re Grand Jury.) Participants will also learn about the current state of the law with respect to conservation easements and the Administrative Procedure Act.
