Inside the U.N. System: Investigating Torture, Shaping Accountability, and Training Advocates

Join Rutgers Law alumni for an evening of networking with Rutgers Law alumni from 6-8 p.m. and a CLE program running from 6:40 to 7:40 p.m., offering 1 CLE credit (NY & NJ approved).

About the program: Inside the U.N. System: Investigating Torture, Shaping Accountability, and Training Advocates
This CLE program explores the work of the United Nations Committee Against Torture (“CAT”) and how international human rights law—particularly the UN Convention Against Torture (“UNCAT”)—operates not only globally but also within U.S. domestic legal frameworks. Drawing on experiential learning through the Center of Transnational Law, Professor Jorge Contesse shares key lessons from engaging law students in real-world human rights advocacy.
