Greenberg Traurig and Deloitte Host Women’s Networking Lunch to Benefit Chapman Partnership

MIAMI (October 7, 2014) – International law firm Greenberg Traurig hosted a women’s networking lunch and presentation in partnership with Deloitte Thursday, Oct. 2,. The event was held at Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office.

The event was co-sponsored by the Greenberg Traurig Women’s initiative and the Deloitte Women’s Initiative.

Iris Escarra, Co-Chair of the Miami Land Development and Zoning Practice, and Kim Griffin-Hunter, Health Science Partner of Deloitte, welcomed all attendees. Greenberg Traurig Shareholder and Miami Women’s Initiative liaison Brigid Cech Samole and Deloitte Tax Partner Wendi Christensen led the interactive session on ‘finding your passion.’

“I am proud to be a part of a firm that is so deeply committed to the success of its women lawyers,” said Escarra, Miami liaison for Greenberg Traurig’s Women’s Initiative. “This event is just one of many great opportunities to work with like-minded organizations to address issues such as recruiting, retention and business development on a broader scale.’’

Lauren E. Smith, Managing Director of Diversified Search, served as the event’s keynote speaker. Smith’s presentation offered the attendees tips on a variety of topics: leveraging your passions and strengths in your career, knowing your purpose and building the right relationships both internally and externally.

Attendees were asked to bring a donation of new or nearly-new professional attire suitable for a job interview for the Chapman Partnership, a charitable organization in Miami that offers aid and job training for the homeless. The group chose to partner with this  organization because of Cech Samole’s involvement as a volunteer and member of the Chapman Partnership’s Womenade group.
