Nancy A. Peterman is a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, LLP and chair of the Chicago Business Reorganization & Financial Restructuring Practice. Here she tells Finance Monthly about the Greenberg Traurig team's role in Versa Capital Management's acquisition of The Wet Seal and its Affiliates.
Greenberg Traurig, LLP assisted in connection with this transaction. What was your role in bringing this transaction to completion?
Greenberg Traurig was counsel to Mador Lending, LLC, an affiliate of Versa Capital Management, the purchaser of The Wet Seal's assets. I led the transaction with Howard J. Steinberg. We had assistance from many colleagues, including Andrew R. Cardonick, Chad D. Striker, Bruce Steinert, Paul R. Hogan, Paul T. Martin, and Jane Kim. This transaction was contentious and fast moving. On January 15, 2015, The Wet Seal and its affiliates filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy case in Delaware.
