2016 CEE Capital Markets Awards – Two Transactions Handled by the Warsaw Office Receive Top Honors

WARSAW – Oct. 5, 2016 - Two transactions handled by Greenberg Traurig’s Warsaw office were distinguished at the 2016 CEE Capital Markets Awards.

Alior Bank’s PLN 800 million public bond program won in the Top Bond Listing Deal of the Year category and the subsequent PLN 2.2 billion issuance of new shares was honored as the Top Secondary Listing.

Total gross proceeds from the offering reached PLN 2.2 billion, making it the largest public offering on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2013 and the largest rights issue since 2009.

Senior Partner Lejb Fogelman supervised the teams in the successful execution of both transactions. 

Partner Ireneusz Matusielański led the team on the bond issuance program, and Partner Łukasz Pawlak was responsible for regulatory issues related to the transaction. They were supported by Senior Associates Małgorzata Paśnik and Adam Puchalski and Associates Marek Kłeczek and Dawid Kędzierski.

Partner Ireneusz Matusielański and Partner Federico Salinas led the team on the PLN 2.2 billion issuance of new shares to finance the acquisition of the core banking business of Bank BPH. Partner Łukasz Pawlak handled regulatory issues. Partner Dorothee Fischer-Appelt and Of Counsel Godric Shoesmith from the firm’s London office assisted on US law matters. They were supported by Senior Associates Karolina Dunin‑Wilczyńska and Adam Puchalski and Associates Marek Kłeczek, Magdalena Zmysłowska, and Tomasz Szekalski.
