Greenberg Traurig Adds EPA Vet To Firm

Greenberg Traurig LLP announced on Friday that it has snagged a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency veteran from McGuireWoods LLP, who has joined the firm’s environmental and litigation practice in its Washington, D.C., office.

Bernadette M. Rappold started at McGuire Woods in 2013 after spending 15 years with the EPA, where she held a number of titles, including director of its Special Litigation and Projects Division in the Office of Civil Enforcement, where she led enforcement actions relating to the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act and other environmental statutes. She joins the firm as a shareholder, and will be both litigating and providing advice to clients, she said.

“Greenberg Traurig was very attractive to me because it’s got such a robust group of environmental practitioners who’ve got deep experience at every level of federal and international practice,” Rappold said. "It’s such a big firm that it’s got resources practically everywhere ... which makes it really attractive to clients to utilize the firm."
