Greenberg Traurig Assists Alaska Gasline Development Corporation on Key Agreement for the Alaska LNG System

WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 30, 2018 – In connection with the development of one of the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in the world, a team from global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP assisted the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC) and the State of Alaska in negotiating a gas sales precedent agreement with BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. earlier this month. According to the press release issued by the Governor's office, the agreement covers key terms such as price and volume for the purchase by AGDC of BP Alaska’s share of 30 trillion cubic feet of gas from production areas on the North Slope of Alaska. As per the release, AGDC and BP expect to finalize a long-term gas sales agreement later in 2018.

Greenberg Traurig’s Energy & Natural Resources Practice has represented Alaska on the state’s gas commercialization efforts for more than 10 years. The team which assisted AGDC on the BP agreement is a multi-office team that includes practice Co-Chair Kenneth M. Minesinger; Of Counsel Patrick Pope; Shareholders Iskender Catto, Derek Anchondo, and Howard Nelson; and Associate Thomas Lemon.
