3 Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Speak at the 4th Annual Japan Gaming Congress

TOKYO – May 21, 2019 – Shareholders Mark A. Clayton, Koji Ishikawa, and Martha A. Sabol of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP participated in the Japan Gaming Congress, May 16-17, at the Conrad Tokyo. Greenberg Traurig was a sponsor of the two-day conference, which gathered business, academic, and industry leaders to discuss new trends and developments in Japan’s integrated resort (IR) and casino industry.

On May 16, Ishikawa participated as a panelist in the session, “Gridlock: Examining the licensing and legal challenges still inhibiting financial progression with Integrated Resorts.” On May 17, Clayton spoke on the panel, “A casino fit for Japan: Leapfrogging to the top in experience, technology and revenue.” Also on May 17, Sabol moderated a panel titled, “Implementing social safeguarding measures and responsible gambling messaging: Global Examples.”

Clayton is co-chair of the Global Gaming Practice and has wide-ranging experience in the gaming industry and focuses his practice on gaming operational and regulatory matters, including those related to land-based gaming, internet gaming and the manufacturing and distribution of gaming equipment.

Ishikawa, managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig's Tokyo office, focuses his practice on corporate finance and capital markets matters. He also has experience handling cross-border transactions and advising clients in the technology sector.

Sabol, who co-chairs Greenberg Traurig’s Gaming Practice as well as the firm’s Women's Initiative, focuses her practice on gaming regulatory and business law, representing national and international casino owners, operators and suppliers in the areas of regulatory compliance, acquisition, licensure, internal investigation matters, and corporate counseling.
