Greenberg Traurig’s Kate Kalmykov and Nataliya Rymer to Speak on Practising Law Institute’s CLE Webinar

NEW JERSEY AND PHILADELPHIA – August 18, 2021 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Kate Kalmykov, an Immigration & Compliance shareholder based in the firm’s New Jersey and New York offices, and Nataliya Rymer, an Immigration & Compliance shareholder based in the firm’s Philadelphia officewill serve as panelists on Practising Law Institute (PLI)’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program, “Immigration Changes and Considerations for Employers in a COVID-19 World” on September 17 at 1 p.m. EDT.

The impact of the pandemic on businesses has forced companies to reexamine numerous employee practices, including immigration processes. PLI cites that “employers are facing issues related to their workforce to a degree never experienced before due to COVID-19, and it is critical for employers to protect themselves as they make decisions surrounding continuing business operations, remote work, and returns to office,” noting that the “panel will discuss considerations that employers should take into account when making immigration-related employment decisions in a pandemic.”

Kalmykov focuses her practice on business immigration and compliance. She represents clients in a wide-range of employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant visa matters including students, trainees, professionals, managers and executives, artists and entertainers, treaty investors and traders, persons of extraordinary ability, and immigrant investors. Kalmykov currently leads the Immigration & Compliance practice group in the firm’s New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia offices. She works with clients of all sizes in understanding and complying with the immigration laws relating to the hiring and retention of foreign talent. Specifically, her practice focuses on supporting clients and advising them on temporary and permanent residency immigration options for multi-national executive, business, scientific, and information technology personnel.

Rymer focuses her practice on employment-based immigration and compliance. She represents clients in a wide range of employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant matters, including professionals, managers and executives, artists and entertainers, treaty traders and investors, immigrant investors, and persons of extraordinary ability. Rymer also has experience working with employers on I-9 employment verification matters as well as H-1B and LCA compliance-related issues. She counsels employers on due diligence issues, including internal audits and reviews, as well as minimization of exposure and liabilities in government investigations. In addition, Rymer is experienced with family-based immigration and immigration-related federal court litigation issues, as well as waivers of inadmissibility.
