Greenberg Traurig Entering Saudi Arabia

Khalid Al-Thebity has joined the firm, continuing the firm’s strategic expansion in the Middle East and globally at an extraordinary time for regional business growth

NEW YORK – March 14, 2023– Greenberg Traurig, LLP will be expanding its presence in the Middle East in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The firm will now be operating in affiliation with Khalid Al-Thebity Law Firm and is applying to register a joint venture in Saudi Arabia. Khalid A. Al-Thebity joins as Managing Shareholder, with a team of additional shareholders and associates expected to join imminently.

Khalid Al-Thebity Law Firm has been operating in Saudi Arabia for more than 25 years and has an exceptional reputation advising private, government and quasi-government clients on many of the most important corporate, finance, project and project finance, PPP, infrastructure, natural resource, real estate, hospitality, privatization, corporatization, corporate restructurings, and legislative and regulatory matters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Greenberg Traurig reported its 9th consecutive year of record growth in FY 2022, with more than $2.17 billion in revenues, and grew to 2,650 lawyers worldwide. In 2022 the firm opened offices in Charlotte, Long Island, and Portland. Earlier in 2023 the firm opened in San Diego.

His practice includes Saudi litigation and arbitration cases, including representing the government of Saudi Arabia on several international law matters since 1996. He also advises insurance companies with respect to Saudi regulatory matters. Khalid’s views and comments have been sought by many agencies on draft laws and regulations.
