Greenberg Traurig Shareholders Speak at Corporate Counsel Women of Color Career Strategies Conference

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Oct. 6, 2023 –Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Labor & Employment Practice Shareholders Johnine P. Barnes and Tiffany S. Fordyce spoke at the 19th annual Corporate Counsel Women of Color (CCWC) Career Strategies Conference, held the final week of September at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Barnes spoke on the panel titled “Creating Your Legacy and Being Intentional About Your Impact” and Fordyce on the panel titled “Don’t Try to Mute or Silence Me: Unapologetically Being Myself.” The firm was again a sponsor of the event.

Chair of the Washington, D.C. office Labor and Employment Practice, Barnes has been nationally recognized by Chambers, Legal 500 and Lawdragon for her labor and employment practice. She counsels and advises clients ranging from family-owned businesses to Fortune 20 companies on employment and compliance matters. Barnes’ board service for both corporate and non-profit entities allows her to bring a unique perspective marrying legal and business strategies for clients. Fordyce is chair of the Chicago office Labor & Employment Practice and co-chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Group. Her employment litigation practice includes virtually all types of discrimination and retaliation claims, wage and hour claims, trade secret misappropriation claims, whistleblower claims, restrictive covenants, Fair Credit Reporting Act claims, Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act claims, and WARN Act claims. She also advises clients on ways to avoid litigation by counselling on a variety of employment-related matters.
