Greenberg Traurig’s Nikki E. Dobay and Sharon Katz-Pearlman to Speak at 2023 TEI Annual Conference

NEW YORK – Oct. 17, 2023 – Nikki E. Dobay and Sharon Katz-Pearlman, shareholders in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Tax Practice, will speak at the 2023 Tax Executives Institute (TEI) Annual Conference taking place Oct. 22-25 in New York City.

The 2023 TEI Annual Conference, a 75th anniversary celebration, will include networking opportunities as well as panels focused on federal, international, and state and local tax, and financial reporting, and tax management issues.

Dobay will speak on a panel Oct. 23 titled “State Tax Policy: As Deficits Return, will the Tide Change?,” and Katz-Pearlman will speak on a panel Oct. 25 titled “Positioning Issues for Resolution at IRS Appeals: What Has Changed and Remains the Same.”

Dobay is nationally known for her deep experience and understanding of state tax policy and the legislative process. She also advises clients on sophisticated multistate tax issues as well as the consequences and planning opportunities related to corporate mergers and acquisitions transactions and oversees state and local tax controversy matters, ranging from audits to appellate litigation, and involving sales and use taxes, income and franchise taxes, property taxes, and constitutional issues.

Katz-Pearlman focuses her practice on the representation of large multinationals, partnerships, and other taxpayers before the IRS. She represents clients on domestic and cross-border issues from the pre-exam phase through examination, appeals, and into litigation if necessary. In addition, Katz-Pearlman has represented clients using the full range of available IRS Alternative Dispute Resolution techniques, and advises and represents clients on transfer pricing disputes before the IRS, and in competent authority matters using APAs and the MAP to reach certainty.
