NORTH HAVEN, Conn. – Nov. 28, 2023 – Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholders G. Michelle Ferreira and Barbara T. Kaplan will speak at the 2023 New England IRS Representation Conference in Connecticut Nov. 30 – Dec. 1.
On Nov. 30, Kaplan will speak at Quinnipiac Law School on a panel titled “Knock-Knock: What To Do When Special Agents Are At Your Door,” discussing what to do when targeted by IRS special agents from both a client and tax preparer perspective.
On Dec. 1, Ferreira will speak at Mohegan Sun on “Hidden Assets and Fraudulent Transfers: What Accountants Need To Watch For!” discussing the potential consequences and fallout associated with hidden assets. Kaplan will speak at Mohegan Sun on “Enforcement Trends: What’s Hot and What’s Not,” discussing the changing tax enforcement landscape, and how it will affect examinations, criminal investigations, and tax collection.
Ferreira is senior vice president and co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices. Kaplan is global co-chair of the firm’s tax practice and chair of the Tax Controversy and Litigation sub-group. Both attorneys counsel individuals, partnerships, estates, and corporations in tax disputes with the IRS and state and local tax agencies. Both are also former tax litigators for the Internal Revenue Service.,
