CHICAGO – July 22, 2026 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP continues the strategic growth of its Private Equity Practice with the addition of Brian Arnfelt as a shareholder in the firm’s Chicago office. He joins Greenberg Traurig from Neal & Leroy, LLC and previously practiced at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
Arnfelt represents private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, public and private companies, management teams, investors, founders, and family offices in a broad range of complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, carve-out transactions, recapitalizations, strategic investments, governance, executive compensation, incentive equity arrangements, and other general corporate matters across a wide range of industries.
“Brian brings an impressive combination of sophisticated private equity and M&A experience, is known for his legal skills, teamwork, and client service, and has strong relationships within the broader Chicago business community,” Private Equity Practice Co-Chair Peter H. Lieberman said. “We are very pleased to have Brian join us as we continue to build out our private equity and broader M&A team, both here in Chicago and across the firm.”
Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Arnfelt served as a managing member and the chair of Neal & Leroy, LLC’s Corporate Department, and previously was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He also worked as an investment banker at William Blair, where he focused on M&A transactions. His combined legal and investment banking experience provides him with a distinctive understanding of transaction dynamics, valuation considerations, and business objectives, enabling him to provide strategic, business-focused counsel on complex transactions.
“I was drawn to Greenberg Traurig’s combination of sophisticated transactional capabilities, collaborative culture, and deep commitment to client service,” Arnfelt said. “The firm’s global platform, exceptional private equity bench, and expansive reach across markets and industries represent an extraordinary opportunity, and I could not be more excited to be joining.”
