BOSTON – Sept. 28, 2026 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Innovation & Artificial Intelligence and Venture Capital & Emerging Technology groups will host a panel discussion and networking session Sept. 28 for attendees of Boston AI Week.
Led by Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Shareholder Andrew (A.J.) Tibbetts, the panel, “When AI Gets Physical: Navigating the Real-World Risks and Rewards,” will examine the growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on real-world environments and the legal, business, and operational considerations shaping its future. Venture Capital & Emerging Technology Group Co-Chair Chinh H. Pham will provide opening remarks. The panel will be followed by cocktails and light bites.
Tibbetts provides business-oriented intellectual property (IP) legal counseling for software, AI, and electronics-based technologies. His strategic approach incorporates open-source practices and trade secret policies alongside patents, and he advises clients on licensing, enforcement, diligence, and defense against infringement accusations. Tibbetts’ patents have directly helping clients close funding rounds, and software patents he wrote for clients have survived Patent Trial and Appeal Board invalidity challenges and been enforced against competitors. He co-authored influential amicus briefs relating to patentability of software that were cited favorably by the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Pham focuses his practice on the strategic creation, implementation, and protection of IP rights for technology and life sciences clients, ranging from venture-backed companies to multinational corporations. He works with his clients to leverage their key innovations for strategic commercial and business opportunities. In addition, Pham assists startup clients with strategies for leveraging their IP portfolio for high-value commercial opportunities and serves as a mentor to entrepreneurs and early-stage ventures through various incubator and accelerator programs. He has been recognized as a “Technology Law Trailblazer” by The National Law Journal and was named ALM | Law.com’s 2024 New England Legal Awards “Attorney of the Year.”
Boston AI Week is Massachusetts’ statewide, community-organized festival connecting the people and organizations building, funding, researching, governing, applying, and exploring AI. Rather than a single conference, it brings together meetups, workshops, panels, hackathons, demo nights, career programs, conferences, and cultural events on one statewide calendar, with a mission to accelerate responsible AI adoption and develop AI talent at scale. Running Sept. 16 through Oct. 28, with Core Festival Week from Sept. 24 through Oct. 2, this year’s theme, “AI in Business and in Life,” explores how organizations are putting AI to work and how people are experiencing it in areas such as education, health care, culture, and everyday life. In 2025, Boston AI Week featured more than 125 events, 256 participating companies, and over 15,000 attendees; its community now includes more than 500 organizations across 23 countries, with more than 130 events already approved for 2026.
