Tricia A. Asaro, Chair of the Albany office Health Care & FDA Practice, focuses her practice in the areas of health care, and government law and policy. She has broad experience representing health plans in business negotiations, regulatory compliance matters and corporate governance issues. She also has wide-ranging experience handling health care transactions, particularly regulatory approval of changes in control of health care entities.

  • Represented Blue Wolf Capital Partners in connection with its joint venture with Kelso & Company to combine Jordan Health Services, Great Lakes Caring, and National Home Health Care, creating one of largest home-based care providers in the United States.
  • Represented Blue Wolf Capital Partners in connection with the acquisition of Hospicelink, the largest hospice-focused durable medical equipment benefit manager in the United States.
  • Represented investors in the purchase of a multistate health plan, serving as lead counsel for regulatory approval of the transaction.
  • Acted as lead negotiator for New York Health Plan Association members in Medicaid Managed Care, Family Health Plus and Medicaid Advantage contract negotiations with the New York State Department of Health.
  • Defended several health plans sued by chiropractors over compliance with New York's chiropractic benefit mandate.
  • Represented a health plan in negotiations with a mental health vendor in a multistate transaction.
  • Negotiated transaction and obtained regulatory approval for a holding company in its acquisition of a property and casualty insurer.
