Tarik A. Brooks is a member of the Public Finance & Infrastructure Practice in Greenberg Traurig's Philadelphia office. He centers his practice on sophisticated transactions representing traditional and nontraditional lenders and borrowers, including community development financial institutions (CDFIs). He also advises real estate investors seeking to use federal and state funding programs to finance real estate development as well as private equity firms in managing general corporate matters for portfolio companies. Tarik also represents and advises national banks with making equity-equivalent investments into CDFIs.

  • Represented a national bank with deploying debt and equity capital into mission-driven organizations that support low-to-moderate income communities.°
  • Represented a community development financial institution as the sole attorney negotiating and documenting two loan facilities with complex collateral structures; completed in 18 days.°
  • Represented a music production company in the sale of its assets to a music distribution company.°
  • Represented a CDFI in connection with providing secured financing to a real estate developer that acquired and renovated a historic building in Philadelphia.°
  • Represented a national bank in connection with issuing over $10 million in equity equivalent investments in CDFIs across the country.°
  • Represented agricultural company with operations in U.S. and Mexico with obtaining a $25 million loan facility, secured by the company’s receivables in both countries.°
  • Represented a CDFI in connection with financing an award-winning chef’s new restaurant location.°
  • Represented an asset management firm in issuing a senior secured loan to a company in the Cannabis industry.°
