Sophia is an associate in the International Arbitration and Litigation practice in Greenberg Traurig’s London office. Sophia focuses her practice primarily on international commercial arbitration and litigation, concentrating on complex multi-jurisdictional cases. She has experience advising private companies, state owned entities and sovereign states in litigation and arbitration under the Rules of UNCITRAL, LCIA, ICC, and ICSID. Sophia has worked with a variety of clients from a range of sectors, including construction, energy, oil and gas, hospitality and financial services.

  • Representing a South American national oil company in a $120 million UNCITRAL arbitration arising from a contract for the engineering, procurement and construction of a semi-submersible oil and gas production platform and related standby letter of credit.
  • Representing a German industrial gases and engineering company in an ICC arbitration proceeding arising out of a parent company guarantee in relation to a major energy infrastructure project.
  • Representing a global engineering contractor in a dispute concerning contractual payment and performance issues on a large-scale industrial project.
  • Successfully represented a Japanese commodities trading house in an ICC arbitration against a Mexican metals importer regarding claims for non-payment of deliveries.
  • Represented a client operating in the luxury hospitality industry against multiple European state-owned entities in complex multi-contract LCIA arbitrations arising from high-profile landmark hotels.
  • Acting for the Swedish Pensions Agency, on behalf of the Kingdom of Sweden and over 46,000 pension savers affected by the “Falcon Fund Fraud”.
