Paul R. McIntyre is a member of the Environmental Practice. He represents leading private equity funds, developers, and institutional investors in the evaluation and mitigation of environmental concerns associated with the acquisition, development, financing and sale of real property. Paul’s work involves assisting clients in developing environmental diligence and remediation strategies and protocols, drafting and negotiating environmental provisions in transaction contracts and agreements, and navigating state remediation and brownfields cleanup programs and regulations, and evaluating environmental insurance options to mitigate identified and potential risks.
Paul’s practice is multi-jurisdictional and national in scope, and he has represented clients acquiring, financing, and selling property in the United Kingdom, European Union, and Japan. He regularly advises clients concerning the potential impact of environmental conditions on commercial property and helps to develop strategies and solutions to effectively define, address, and resolve such issues. He assists clients in engaging qualified and experienced environmental consultants and contractors on preferred terms to conduct site and building assessments and remediation work, and to produce associated reports and other documentation to be shared with third parties such as regulators, lenders, tenants, or exit buyers. Paul frequently presents at seminars and conferences on environmental topics pertaining to environmental diligence, remediation strategies, and environmental insurance.
