Aurore Nicaud has broad experience in the construction and infrastructure sectors, primarily in the United States and Latin America. Aurore’s practice focuses on the representation of owners and developers of large real estate and infrastructure projects, in both transactional and dispute resolution capacities. She also has deep experience in commercial and investment international arbitration.
Aurore negotiates and drafts legal documents with fluency in English, Spanish, and French. She received her legal training in the United States and Europe. She is licensed to practice law in multiple U.S. jurisdictions, as well as in Colombia, and was admitted to practice law in France (currently inactive).

Experience
- Representation of a Government of Central America in an investment dispute related to the construction of a hydroelectric power plant and transmission line.
- Representation of a U.S. –based developer in connection with a construction dispute nearing US$ 1 billion.
- Representation of owners and developers on large residential, commercial and mixed-use real estate projects. Advise on contract negotiations with architects, engineers, general contractors and assist throughout claim resolution and litigation.
- Representation of the owner on a US $8 billion infrastructure project, including leading the negotiation of purchase and sale agreements for more than US $1 billion worth of equipment, as well as the daily management of the main engineering procurement and construction agreement. For the same project, advised on the international arbitration against the main contractor of the refinery for over US $4 billion in claims, before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). °
- Representation of the largest operators of mass-transit bus operations throughout Latin America in relation to a US $350 million ICSID (world bank) international arbitration for loss of foreign investment.°
- Representation of a French oil & gas company before the ICC in a private investment related dispute.°
- Representation of a Japanese drug manufacturer before the ICC over a patent dispute with a German distributor.°
- Representation of a national from Spain before the ICSID in connection with a US$ 797 million illegal expropriation proceeding. °

- Delegation of the European Union to Colombia, Consultant with the Colombian Government, 2011. Prepared a regulatory reform to improve compliance of domestic legislation with international law.
