Andrea E. Nieto is member of the Labor & Employment Practice in Greenberg Traurig's Tampa office. In addition to assisting employers with investigations before the EEOC, OSHA, and FCHR, she represents employers in disputes regarding restrictive covenants and alleged discriminatory practices in both state and federal court.
Andrea has considerable knowledge representing corporations and other personnel in virtually all phases of employment-related litigation from risk-management through trial and appeal. Andrea regularly handles matters involving employment disputes, including claims of race, disability, gender, and age discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, workers’ compensation, family medical leave policies, and in litigation involving business torts, trade secrets, non-competes, and non-solicitation and employment agreements. In addition, she routinely counsels clients on day-to-day employment-related matters, including disciplinary actions, accommodations, hiring, and firing employees and conducts internal investigations, reviews and prepares client-specific policies and procedures, and provides training for employers.
Andrea is leadership facilitator in her role as a national volunteer for the Nancy Walton Laurie Leadership Institute of Chi Omega. She is passionate about the mission of helping women at all stages in their lives in leadership development and life skills.
Prior to joining GT, she served as a federal clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida giving her an inside understanding of the court system and the litigation process, and litigated ERISA, life insurance, and disability insurance disputes.
