Neil Oberfeld is Co-Chair of the National Leasing Practice and assists national and regional retailers, developers, institutional owners and investors in real estate and general business matters. Neil concentrates his practice on acquisition, development, leasing, finance and investment transactions, including retail, office and industrial real estate; joint venture and fund formation and investment; secured and commercial loan transactions; and property tax assessment.

Neil has wide-ranging experience in all phases of real estate development. Neil is also actively engaged in assisting clients with joint venture and fund investment transactions. He is a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences including Innovating Commerce Serving Communities and U.S. Green Building Council.

  • Leasing representation of a national retailer in rollout of a new street level retail concept in multiple states.
  • Leasing representation of a national big box retailer with multiple retail store brands throughout the United States.
  • Leasing representation of a regional appliance and furniture big box retailer in the Western United States.
  • Leasing representation of a public company for large operational office space throughout the United States.
  • Leasing representation of a real estate company with 23 office and industrial parks or projects for more than 25 years in Colorado.
  • Representation of recreational goods anchor superstore in local development in Colorado.
  • Acquisition of multi-tenant warehouse projects (approximately 2,000,000 sq.ft.) in Mississippi and Tennessee.
  • Acquisition, re-development and leasing of more than 25 retail malls and shopping centers across the United States.
  • Acquisition of a joint venture membership interest with a real estate investment trust for ownership of a multi-tenant warehouse project (approximately 600,415 sq.ft.) and vacant land (50 acres) in New Jersey.
  • Acquisition of a joint venture membership interest in the development of a TOD apartment/retail project in Colorado and Florida.
  • Acquisition of a joint venture membership interest in a series of sponsored transactions in distressed real estate developments in Florida and California.
  • Acquisition of an historic multi-tenant office building in downtown San Francisco, California.
  • Consolidation of two existing investment funds and re-commitment for an additional $100M investment in commercial real estate in a joint venture with a national real estate investment company.
  • Negotiation of fund investment documents for approximately $175M in fund investments in 2014-2015.
  • IPO and subsequent public stock offering providing U.S. representation of an underwriter to a Canadian real estate investment company.
  • Development and sale of 100 acre parcel for retail, hotel and multi-family development and sale of parcels to multiple buyers in North Dakota.
  • Sale and partial leaseback of multi-story office building and drive-through facilities in Texas.
  • Sale of a portfolio of historic office/retail buildings to a publicly owned insurance holding company, including related tax exchanges and defeasance.
  • Sale of more than $200M in performing commercial real estate loans in two transactions to a national mutual insurance company and a real estate investment trust.
  • Sale of several parcels of vacant land at a TOD site in Colorado to multiple buyers for hotel and multi-family development.
  • Sale of 357 units in a broken condominium project in Florida.
  • Sale of 12-story apartment building in Colorado.
