Patrick M. Weaver

Patrick M. Weaver advises institutional banks, investment servicing providers, financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies, investment banks, and emerging market clients on regulatory, transactional, and compliance matters in the investment space.

He has wide-ranging experience working with open-end and closed-end funds, as well as registered and unregistered funds and investment advisers, on compliance with the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. Patrick also regularly advises banks on structuring custody, transfer agent, and fund administration relationships in compliance with the Investment Company Act of 1940 and applicable OCC rules and regulations.

As the investment landscape continues to evolve, Patrick leverages his deep knowledge to guide clients through the regulatory complexities of both traditional and alternative investment vehicles, including digital assets and currencies.

Prior to joining GT, Patrick was an associate at another global law firm, handling transactional matters across diverse deal structures and industries. His experience includes advising private companies on general corporate and strategic financings as well as helping institutional, sovereign wealth fund, venture capital, and private equity clients structure their investments.

Patrick maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in matters involving financings and M&A transactions.
