Monica W. Zhang is an entertainment attorney and focuses her practice on transactional music matters representing a variety of clients including high-profile and internationally acclaimed recording artists, songwriters, producers, and creators in the negotiation of recording, publishing, composing, production, touring, endorsement and sponsorship, influencer, licensing and distribution agreements, as well as serving as outside counsel for independent record labels and music publishers, music tech and multimedia entertainment companies. Monica represents and advises clients on both catalog acquisitions and sales of music copyrights, trademarks, and related rights. Monica also regularly advises on content usage and clearance issues, providing guidance on best practices for her clients.

  • Negotiated all contracts pertaining to a three-day, multi-venue conference and music festival.°
  • Represented Concord Music Group as part of core deal team in the acquisition of a majority stake in Pulse Music Group and the acquisition of Downtown Music’s catalog of 145,000 copyrights.°
  • Represented Iconic Artists Group in the Irving Azoff-led company’s acquisitions and partnerships with The Beach Boys, Linda Ronstadt and David Crosby.°
