Competition: Investigations, Merger Control & Antitrust Litigation

Greenberg Traurig Mexico's Antitrust practice advises companies in proceedings related to investigations of absolute and relative monopolistic practices, barriers to entry, merger control (including mergers, acquisitions and certain types of collaboration agreements that require a control procedure -joint ventures, trademark licenses, among others-), authorizations related to the favorable opinion for participation in bids, among others. We also advise on preventive and corrective compliance matters in this area. Leveraging our deep experience in the sector and the international network to which Greenberg Traurig Mexico has access, our lawyers provide strategic legal advice to clients globally and nationally.

Our firm has been in charge of leading key antitrust matters and proceedings before the Federal Antitrust Commission (COFECE), the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT), the Specialized Antitrust Courts, as well as before the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice.

Our lawyers have obtained landmark, precedent-setting resolutions in Mexico on behalf of their clients to protect their interests and, in addition, in proceedings involving requests for information and/or measures unjustifiably imposed by the Mexican antitrust authorities in merger and acquisition transactions and collaboration agreements.
