If you have driven past the sprawling rocket manufacturing campus on Merritt Island, you have already seen the kind of infrastructure investment reshaping Florida’s space economy.
From upgraded access roads to dual-use launch support facilities, projects like these are made possible in part by Florida’s creative use of transportation funding — including, in some cases, toll revenue — to support spaceport infrastructure.
As commercial launch activity accelerates, Florida has taken a leadership role in integrating space transportation into its broader mobility strategy. Central to that approach is the Space Transportation Infrastructure Matching Fund, commonly referred to as the Spaceport Improvement Program.
