Greenberg Traurig Attorney Fred E. Karlinsky Speaks at the IRES Career Development Seminar and Regulatory Skills Workshop

FORT LAUDERDALE and TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – July 28, 2015 – Fred E. Karlinsky, shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale and Tallahassee offices of international law firm Greenberg Traurig P.A., spoke at the Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society’s (IRES) Career Development Seminar and Regulatory Skills Workshop titled “Looking to the Past for the Future of Market Regulation” held July 19-22, 2015 in Charleston, South Carolina. This is the Society's premier professional development workshop for those who work in many different areas of insurance regulations such as market regulation, consumer services, financial solvency, producer licensing and enforcement & compliance areas. The workshop also offered general sessions on life, health and property & casualty insurance and provided opportunities to network with regulators and insurance industry representatives.

Karlinsky, a member of the IRES Foundation Board, moderated the July 21 “Commissioners Roundtable” whereby Insurance Commissioners discussed some of the major issues facing their states and provided their departments’ perspective on important insurance related matters. The roundtable participants were: Director Ray Farmer of South Carolina, Commissioner Wayne Goodwin of North Carolina, Commissioner Sharon Clark of Kentucky, and Commissioner Robertson of Indiana. Additional topics included recent national and international developments and their effects on the insurance industry.

Karlinsky is Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig's Insurance Regulatory and Transactions Practice Group and a shareholder within the Government Law & Policy Group. He represents insurers, reinsurers, producers and other insurance interests throughout the U.S. and internationally in a wide variety of business, operational, regulatory, transactional and governmental matters. Recognized as one of the top insurance lawyers by Chambers and Partners, Karlinsky has extensive knowledge of insurance compliance matters and is a sought-after thought leader who has spoken and presented papers to insurance executives and governmental officials, both nationally and internationally.

Karlinsky received a bachelor's degree from the University of Miami and a Juris Doctorate from the Florida State University College of Law, where he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law.
